Refurbishment Process
Alston Motors follows a refurbishment process focused on mechanical condition, operational stability, and long-term serviceability rather than cosmetic appearance alone.
Each vehicle is evaluated according to its actual operating condition, structural status, and export market requirements before refurbishment work begins.
Main Refurbishment Procedures
Refurbishment procedures may include:
- Engine and transmission inspection
- Axle and suspension servicing
- Brake system maintenance
- Replacement of filters, pipelines, lubricants, batteries, and wear components
- Chassis repair and repainting
- Cabin refurbishment or replacement
- Interior repair and seat refurbishment
- Tire replacement and wheel inspection
- Electrical system repair and testing
- Cooling system inspection and servicing
Depending on application requirements, trucks can also be fitted with:
- Dump cargo bodies
- Fence cargo bodies
- Fuel tanker tanks
- Water tanker tanks
- Concrete mixer drums
- Other special-purpose transport structures
For some African and developing markets, selected vehicles can also be converted from electronic pump systems to mechanical pump systems. This type of configuration is still preferred in certain regions because it simplifies maintenance and reduces dependence on electronic diagnostic systems under local workshop conditions.
For East African markets such as Tanzania, Zambia, Uganda, and Kenya, selected trucks can also be converted from left-hand drive (LHD) to right-hand drive (RHD) configurations according to local transport regulations and operational requirements.
Before shipment, vehicles undergo final inspection, road testing, cleaning, and export preparation procedures.
Quality Control
Each refurbished vehicle undergoes multiple inspection and testing procedures before export delivery.
Inspection procedures include:
- Mechanical system inspection
- Brake testing
- Engine operating condition testing
- Electrical system diagnostics
- Hydraulic system inspection
- Chassis and structural inspection
- Road testing and operational verification
The company pays closer attention to mechanical stability, drivetrain condition, structural durability, and long-term operating reliability under heavy-load transport conditions.
Vehicles with unsuitable structural condition or serious mechanical problems are not selected for refurbishment export programs.

Alston Motors provides after-sales support for overseas customers operating refurbished commercial vehicles in mining, construction, logistics, and fuel transportation industries.

- Spare parts assistance
